Hello Again!

IMG_2077Hello! Hello! Bonjour! Oh, good gracious, how do you start your first post on your own blog?

I suppose it would be best to just start by saying it feels good to be back in the Blogosphere. Some of you readers may know that I used to blog over at The Boyer Sisters, with my two wonderful sisters. But after getting married and moving away from my family last October, I came to the realization that I needed to step away from the blogging world for a bit to re-assess my presence on the web.

IMG_2080So, I did that, and, after gathering my thoughts, re-assessing my direction, and a lot of planning, I am back! I want to officially welcome you to Brijee, the blog! This is where I will be sharing all of my sewing adventures, a few updates on my life, as well as the latest releases in my pattern line: Brijee Patterns. That means that Brijee Patterns are for sale once again! If you want to take a peek at what is in the shop right now, you can hop on over to the Patterns page.

IMG_2075The biggest reason I stepped back from blogging for awhile is, as you have probably guessed by now… I am pregnant! My dear husband and I are expecting our first little one later in the year, and I feel so blessed to be on this journey of becoming a mother. I needed some time to adjust, and start to grasp what it means to me to be an expecting mom, and blogging just couldn’t be a part of that adjustment phase. But in the past few months I have been shown that I can’t live my life without sharing the gifts that God has given me. I have been called to a life of sharing and teaching, and that is what I will endeavor to do with this blog.

IMG_2076Well, I suppose that is all I have to say for now, except I am SO looking forward to sharing my adventures with you all, and I hope you will stick around for the ride!

Blessings,

Brigid E.

  2. Hip hip, hooray!

Even though it has been quite the adventure going from a three-some to a dynamic duo, I am thrilled you decided to step out on your own and do something wonderful with your talents. May the Lord bless the work of your hands, and may He bless this new blogging adventure. Praising God for you!

    I love you, Brigi!

  6. Congrats on the little one!!
I’m so excited to see you back in the blogging world! 🙂 I was actually just talking the other day about how I wanted the linden lady pattern but couldn’t get it because you weren’t selling it. I will definitely be grabbing it some time soon!
What are your favorite materials to use with this pattern? If I was going to make one for the fall what fabric would be best to keep the wrap but not be to thin to wear?

    1. Thank you Mary!

I absolutely LOVE Wool Tweed for Linden Lady pants in the fall. I was able to get an amazing tweed from Mood Fabrics last time I made myself a winter pair. They were underlined in a rayon lining material so they didn’t have to be cleaned as often. Something like these tweeds would be wonderful for autumn/winter in my opinion: Navy Wool Tweed; Black and White Boucled Wool Tweed.

My main advice would be, if you are fabric shopping online, look for something that says that it has flexibility and drape. Denim, if you can find one that is of a lighter weight, is another great fabric for autumn, though not as warm as wool.

      Happy sewing!
